Around here....

So it's been a while since our last post, but I'll try to fill everyone in...

Around here, we've been making sure to get some rest and relaxation when time allows...

Around here, we've had a little taste of Spring and adventured outside to check out the grass..

Around here, we are eating up a storm!

Rice cereal...

Sweet Potatoes...

We've been doing quite a bit! Harrison also has his two top teeth starting to pop through, already! And he reaches out and tries to grab anything and everything, definitely keeping us on our toes! This kid will be quite the handful when he decides he's ready to become mobile...which could be within the next few weeks!

This last week has been great since Taylor was up on Spring break and there wasn't a drop of rain! We missed my Mom who was supposed to join us, but we'll have plenty of time together this summer. ;)

I'll try to get more stories posted, as we have had some adventures the past few weeks, and a lot to look forward to in the coming months.

6 Months

Well, it's officially been half a year since this little guy made his grand entrance....

And what a time we've had! I can't even begin to think of the miles this guy has under his belt, from multiple trips across the mountains, to a flight down to Arizona.  Good thing he's a happy kid!

He is also growing like a weed! His height at the 6 month check up was measured at 28.25 inches! He's grown over 2 inches since his last check up! Keep on growin' kiddo, Mama wants to retire on an NBA paycheck... ;)

He is starting to show some massive personality, too.  From lifting his hands up when he's done bouncing in the jumperoo to giving goo-goo eyes to us when we get home from work.  All of it is just great! This evening, he was having so much fun in the bath tub, he started crying and reaching to go back in....soooo in he went! And had a great time splashing around!

We also have the OK to start solids.  We tried a few little mushed up pieces of banana and put it in front of him tonight, however, it seemed he had way more fun just squishing it through his fingers...it was one of the first times something he picked up didn't go STRAIGHT into his mouth! We'll start with some other foods in the next few weeks and can't wait to see what his favorites are.

These two are still best buds, although Gracie has her moments of jealousy where she just wants to play fetch! Hopefully as the weather clears up, we can take Gracie to the dog park more often to run off all of the pent up puggle energy.

Spring is almost upon us...I spied a few daffodils blooming in the front yard, so fingers crossed, the rain is on its way out. And not a moment too soon, because I'm at my max daily dosage for vitamin D!

P.S. Thank you for all of the hospitality over last weekend on our trip back home.  We loved seeing friends and family and we look forward to next time!

Saturday Date Night

It's weird how the passage time feels.  I've been back at work for about 2.5 months and at first I thought my time at work was just dragging by, but my first day back seems so long ago.  And don't even get me started on Harrison.  Someone told me, that with a baby, the days are long, but the years are short.  To me, it feels like the days are short, but the years are even shorter! In a few days, he'll be 6 months old...half  a year!!!!!  And I haven't even planned a half year birthday party for him! Maybe I'll be able to throw something together, or at least get a few pictures. :)

Anywho....that's not what I wanted to talk about...what I really want to share is our date night! Which is actually a night in (not unusual), but we are making an effort to actually watch a good movie and cook a great meal (Harrison is already asleep, but we all know that won't last long...).  We decided to rent Argo, since it won some big awards at the Oscars and it seems like so many movies this days are not even worth the effort, we really hope this one is good.  Anyone who wants my opinion on it, just let me know!

The 4 mile Honey Wagon Race on Saturday morning was a great success!

All ready to hit the pavement!  Gracie, although more than prepared to race, was a little too enthusiastic for my liking, so she stayed back and supported me from the sidelines...
I ended up running it alone (Adam confessed he was all talk), but I had the best cheering section around!!  I had a great run, and ran the entire 4 miles in 41 minutes! My goal was to be under 45 minutes and I caught Adam off guard at the finish line by strutting in a little early, he wasn't able to get a picture. :(  It ended up being a little windy, but no rain, which was exactly what I was hoping for.  Next up, a St. Patty's day 5 mile race in downtown Bellingham.

Harrison also blessed us with a post-race diaper blowout and since we are still considered new parents and didn't bring a change of close for the little mess maker, our day out was cut short.. :(  For the record, diaper bags are now pre-packed with plenty of replacement clothes for our next family outing....

Sunday turned out to be a beautiful day.  We  took a quick trip down to Woodinville to do a little work, then back to Bellingham for a lovely afternoon walk.  You know, this place isn't too bad when the weather is nice and the sun is out...but since that's about 1 day a month, you can only imagine how much we are craving some authentic vitamin D!

Bundled up for the walk!

Hoping for some exciting news in the next few weeks!!! I'll keep you posted!
