Lots to report

Hi everyone! Long time, no posts!! It's the weirdest thing, the weather here is rainy and drizzly! "Really?" you may ask...yes...really...it's GREEEAT....

It turns out, I actually do have a few things to update on...

Last weekend, my Mom traveled up to Bellingham to help decorate the kid's new digs! We (meaning she) painted the room a beautiful gray and helped me sew curtains! It was soooo great to have some help and motivation to get Little Man's room together and although we have a ways to go still, it's going to be an awesome room and I can't wait to finish and enjoy it! Here are a few sneak peeks taken with my phone.  Once I get it finished, I'll take some more pictures and share with you...

Many of you also may be wondering how we are doing after welcoming little Gracie into our home a few weeks ago.  Well, if this is any indication, her nickname is "Screws Loose Gracie." So..... we are hoping it's just a puppy phase and she'll soon grown out of it, and inherit some of Tom's lazy habits (including sleeping 10+ hours a night, curling up on the couch when not sleeping under the covers in bed, and an all around chilled out demeanor..).  Some of Gracie's favorite pastimes are chewing on Dudley's neck fur (this seems to be the case across all puggles), running full speed to Dudley's bed to pee on it, and trying to snuggle up with Thomas, even when he doesn't feel like it.  They really are a great pair...see for yourself!!

Hi everyone!

I'd like to introduce to you all the newest member of our Hill household...

A baby girl puggle named Gracie!!!

How adorable is she?? Thomas isn't 100% convinced that this new addition is a positive one, but they are slowly getting used to each other.  Gracie has no fear when it comes to playing with Tom and Dud, and chases them all over the living room!  We were hoping for a playmate for Thomas to keep him busy and tire him out, and I think we got what we were looking for!  Tay, you might need to recruit back up in July for dog sitting...

But after about 20 minutes of rough housing, they all know how to snuggle up and take a good old fashioned nap, which is something I can definitely relate to...

We were able to enjoy a lovely Sunday evening and let the dogs roam free out in the grass for the first time! Hopefully, we'll be able to do that much more this summer because the pups absolutely loved it!  Tom and Gracie ran and played while the Ol' White Beagle was the resident mall walker, and I think completed about 3 laps around the yard...

We are noticing more friends outside in the yard now that spring is here, including a few bunnies and the biggest robin I've ever seen.  We named him Fat Robin (creative, I know), and we imagine he talks like Fat Albert and says things like "Hey, hey, hey! I'm Fat Robin, I sit on this tree all day and cause it to lean, I'm the fattest robin in town, I eat bunnies for breakfast!!"  It's quite entertaining... and he really does sit on the same branch every day and earlier this year, the tree did tip over and needed to be propped up...he really is fat. :) Trust us.

After about 45 minutes of rolling in the grass, all three are passed out on the couch and will hopefully be for the rest of the night. :)

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend! Ours included a wedding and family reunion! Busy, but fun!

I was feeling creative a while ago and made a cute baby mobile for the baby room, complete with little safari animal cut outs! :)  Unfortunately, I think nurseries usually have a little more in them besides a mobile, but I have to start somewhere right? Especially since the little guy is growing like a weed and I swear does somersaults or kickboxing in my uterus, so much so that Adam could see it moving from across the room!! Think we may have an athlete on our hands??

Little stories

Hi family and friends,

I don't have any one big, exciting, hilarious story to share with you today, but instead a few little treats to hopefully make you smile.

• After getting the oil changed last week, we noticed our thermometer had mysteriously changed to the Celcius scale...which is no problem for those of us who enjoy doing mathematical equations in our heads (Adam) every time we want to know how hot or cold it is outside.  I, however, blame Canada...and if I have to resort to your temperature scale, can I pleeeeeease get your maternity leave benefits?? 
• Adam sweetly telling me one morning that during the night, Thomas crawled up between us, laid his head on the pillow toward Adam, and yawned a horrendous, fish-smelling, puppy-dog, yawn...to which Adam responded by ever so gently flipping Tom to his other side, so his fishy breath would be directed toward the pregnant lady who sleeps like a log. All together now, "AWWWW!!!!"  And if you think THAT wins husband of the year award, just wait til he mistakenly calls my belly bump, a belly bulge.  Not quite the cutest mental image....
• Our new chiropractor is a a mix between a California surfer and Dierks Bentley, which I must say, I can't complain.  We've both started seeing him and I can't say I notice THAT much of a difference right now, but they say patients under chiropractic care often have labors up to 30% shorter! HOORAY!!! However, the receptionist informed us that we could ONLY have 60 massage visits in a year at 85% coverage....darn! :) It's already May! I don't know if I'll be able to reach my quota!!
• Apparently, little baby Hill has better things to do than have his heart rate checked by the doctor. It took her about 5 minutes to find that little stinker, then he proceeded to summon all his energy and jump to the other side of my uterus. Sorry kiddo, you can only hide in there for so long! :)

I think that's about all of our fun times in the past week, but hopefully I'll have more soon after a busy holiday weekend!

It's a boy!!!! We are welcoming a sweet little baby boy in September. :)

Life in iPhone Pictures

Good evening!

I know, it's been quite a while since the last post, but I'm ready to catch everyone up on what has been going on! But first, here is a mish-mash of random photos that I've taken the past few weeks.. :)

Today marks the 20th week of pregnancy! Can you believe it!?! Already halfway through this crazy thing! Little baby Hill has been moving around quite a bit the last week or so, especially after I eat grapes (weird)...  I also finally broke down and ordered a pair of maternity jeans...OMG, best $24 I have ever spent! Now tempted to order Pajama Jeans so I can be even more comfortable at work.  I believe if you order RIGHT NOW, they will double your order.  Does anyone want to go in halvsies with me?? :)

Last weekend we took a little baby-moon to fabulous Las Vegas!! It was really nice to get out of the rain and gloom of the Pacific Northwest, but I actually started to miss Bellingham! If only for the reason that I was on the verge of a bloody nose all weekend due to the dry air.  We took in a little bit of the action on the strip, although there was a huge boxing match going on at the MGM and the place was packed! I got in some MAJOR people watching, by far my favorite part of the whole weekend! We ate a nice dinner at the Rainforest Cafe with Adam's parents and aunt and uncle, who are now finally back in Washington, yay!!! We missed you guys!! :)

This is the last day to place your bets on Baby Hill being a girl or a boy!!!!!! Tomorrow we go in for an ultrasound and hopefully they will be able to tell what that little nugget is!! Although Adam is under the impression that if it's a boy and anything like him, the ultrasound tech will have no problem figuring it out...I'm not so sure...So far it's a landslide vote for a girl, but you just never know! :) I'm already outnumbered in this household, I need a little girl to help even out the playing field!! :)

A special thank you goes out to Taylor who dog sat Tom and Dud while we were in Vegas, I know for a fact that there were some tough times that weekend, including Dudley's tap dancing, Thomas's violently sniffing EVERYTHING while on a walk and of course, the 4:30 AM built in alarm clocks ("We are hungry! Feed us or we will tap dance till we can't tap dance NO MORE!!").  I think they missed you Sunday when you were gone.. :(

Birthday Weekend!!!

My Friday the 13th birthday was a success!! Thank you for all of the happy birthday wishes! We had a busy, but very fun weekend...take a look!

Friday, I trekked to Seattle to visit the Woodland Park Zoo with my Mom, Taylor, and Maddie.  It was a beautiful day! We took plenty of time to play in the open grass, (which oddly reminded me of a dog park...parents/owners on the outside, just letting their little ankle biters run free in the middle, meeting new friends and such)

Maddie was not impressed when, after calling "Hey, Girl!" to her new friend, she didn't turn around and continue running in the grass... Ugh, the nerve of some little girls, am I right?!

On a related note: never attend the zoo on a beautiful Friday at the end of Seattle Spring Break unless you want to see the zoo at well over toddler/young child capacity...needless to say, the open grass area was very refreshing..

On Saturday, we attended a Mariner's game (and they won!), and took our first ever ride on the Seattle Lightrail.  We were first very skeptical... "Is this a wise idea to travel from downtown Seattle on an underground shuttle at 9 pm?  Will we even find the place and if we do, will we be able to find Kellen when we reach our destination??"  Turns out, it couldn't have worked out better!! We found Kellen, our driver for the night, right at the last stop, and made it home in record time!! It was a great Saturday for fun and friends!!

Since the sunny weather is soooo rare here, we couldn't spend our usual Sunday just lounging on the couch...no, when that elusive yellow ball in the sky shows it's face, you get out there and enjoy it! So Sunday, we decided to take a tiptoe through the tulips at the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival in Mount Vernon!

Now, who doesn't love a good field of tulips, right? And since sooo many people would like to enjoy the beauty that tulips have to offer, it makes sense that we would be respective of what I like to call, Tulip Law, so future visitors can experience this glorious event... right??

We soon noticed a pattern emerging....

Notice the security worker on the far left...proudly protecting those tulips...Nothing gets past him!

See the pattern? Not only do people ignore the signs...but they do it clearly within mere feet of it!!!

Oh! Thought you were quick enough, but I caught ya!!

We did get some amusement out of catching these people on camera.  I mean, really?? At least get away from the signs before you break Tulip Law!! Unfortunately, Tulip Law is not strictly enforced here, so these guys got away, none the wiser...

Not to succumb to peer pressure or anything, but the yellow daffodils were just calling my name (bwittttnneeeey!!), so as we walked around the the field (on the main trail, of course), to a far corner not frequented by many visitors, I couldn't help but take a picture :)

That's a 16 week baby bump you're seein', people! :)

Speaking of baby, we have been diligently preparing for the arrival in September and knowing the unpredictable weather here and my tendency to get cold feet, (just ask Adam), I decided these would be the perfect first official baby project...

Baby socks!!!!! oh so cozy!! I think we are well on our way to being prepared.....right?

I think they will be a perfect fit!

Tom is still not quite so sure who in the world could fit into those tiny socks if not him....Sorry, Tom, not for you!
