Now to the real stuff....This taking care of a newborn is no walk in the park, people. As if the final months of pregnancy weren't rough (i.e. haven't had a solid 8 hours of sleep since I don't know when thanks to a bladder the size of a walnut and a belly the size of a watermelon), when I'm finally physically able to comfortably sleep through the night, the new member of our family needs to be fed every 3 hours and as of late, doesn't like to go to bed till about 1 AM. I better get used to it, huh? :) Lucky for me, I'm not alone in this new stage of life, and Adam is doing an excellent job as head of the night shift clean up crew (i.e. diaper changes while I try to squeeze in an extra 3 minutes of sleep before Brittney's Milk Bar opens for business).
Don't let this angelic face fool you, this kid has a set of lungs and isn't afraid to use them!
Yes, I know 95% of you who read this have already experienced this newborn thing, so basically...this is for you, Fred and Erin. :)
Now that I got the worst of it out, there are many more happy moments than frustrating moments in our household, although sleep deprived moments outweigh them all. Harrison had his 2 week check up this afternoon and he weighed in at 9 lbs! He is growing like a champ! His gas smiles are the cutest and even when poop literally shoots across the bathroom at me and I narrowly dodge a messy bullet, he's still such a little cutie, I can't complain. :)
And you guys think you live in a small town...it turns out that there was another Harrison Hill born two days after our little man in Bellingham! We have to be careful because we see the same doctor and they just about mixed up our lab work today. What are the chances!! Luckily, they have different middle initials...phew. Can the town of Bellingham handle two Harrison Hills?? We'll find out!
Adam has been busy completing various arts and crafts projects including this...
2 weeks isn't too early to start gently reminding him which college he'll be attending right??
Although if he wants to see a winning football season, he might try CWU :) I know there are plenty of Wildcats that read this blog, so he'll be in great company....
She also keeps an eye on her new baby brother...
Thanks again for all of the congrats on little Harrison, we'll be making the tour across the mountains soon to introduce him to all of our Yakima family and friends.
